Boxer Debriefs First Unboxing

This week was our first attempt at filming a live unboxing of a board game. We were able to use Chris’ office, which provided a great space for filming. Choosing a game that 5 people could play, Chris offered us ‘Red November’ still freshly wrapped in plastic.

Initially we underestimated how long it would take to read through the instruction manual of the game. As a result we made a group decision to not include this aspect of the unboxing in our videos. While it would still be included in the podcast, Jess came up with the idea to include a short slide briefly explaining the game and its rules in the video, allowing the viewer to pause and read if they wish to do so.

This week was also a good opportunity to work out the logistics for filming. There were a few issues with the time limits of the camera causing it to stop filming, as well as the memory card being full. We also decided to see how the video sound turned out, to see whether it could be used for the podcast or not. We aim to have these matters sorted out before we film the next video on Friday.
